Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Frequently asked questions

We answer some of the most commonly asked questions about ETICS systems.

01. What is an ETICS system and how does it work?

This is an insulation technique that is applied to the exterior façade of buildings and dwellings. It consists of placing layers of insulating materials on the exterior walls, thus protecting the structure of the building from inclement weather. This system improves energy efficiency, reducing heating and cooling consumption by maintaining a more stable temperature inside the spaces.

02. What advantages does the SATE have over other types of insulation?
  • Improved energy efficiency: when applied externally, it avoids thermal bridges, considerably improving insulation capacity.
  • Cost savings: reduces energy consumption, resulting in lower heating and cooling bills.

  • Aesthetics: the facade of the building can be renovated without affecting the interior spaces.

  • Conservation of interior space: installed externally, it does not reduce the usable surface area of the building.

03. How long does an ETICS system last and what maintenance does it require?

A properly installed ETICS system can have a lifespan of between 30 and 50 years. Maintenance is minimal, as the materials used are generally weather resistant. However, it is advisable to carry out regular inspections to check for damage to the outer layer, such as cracks or peeling, which could compromise the effectiveness of the system. If any damage is detected, it is important to repair it as soon as possible to avoid major problems.
